Nursery Bedding

So I know it has been a short lifetime since I have been on, and I have a few posts in my head on my to do list and a list of recipes I need to document and capture to share....

A few months ago one of my dear friends had her first baby. Grayson was coming into a house with two parents as excited about their little boy as any two parents could be. Leigh called me one day and was asking if two fabrics went together b/c she was trying get his bedding and nursery together. Somehow I managed to offer to "help" her make bedding (she doesn't sew and I didn't know that). But I was HAPPY to do it. This gave me the opportunity to give her a baby gift I KNEW she would use and not return (haha)

In the early planning stage we fell in LOVE with this Amy Butler fabric.

Now I LOVE Amy Butler and I have a pile of AB fabric waiting for me to make a project, but I am just haven't done it yet.

Back to the Bedding....
We made a Bumper, Crib Skirt, Curtains, and a small wall hanging.

You can see a stuffed bird in this picture and this was the inspiration. This is what the color combination and vibe for the room were based off of.

We found a perfect blue ribbon to use for the bumper and the tabs for the curtains. The inside the bumper was green which you can't see in any of these pictures, but it was absolutely gorgeous.

I LOVE house the curtains work in the room. We may should have used a blackout lining instead of just a heave muslin, but I still like them. Leigh was able to find this precious curtian rod that has a bird and it just fit so well in the room.

The overall look with the pieces I made, except for the wall hanging (which I will try to find a picture of)
The AB polka dot was used on the wall hanging and Leigh also covered a lamp shade with the fabric. She also found a precious diaper bag that was the same fabric.

I was so happy how the room turned out and Little Grayson is a precious as possible.

And yes that is his real hair.....
